Green Acres Elementary School, located in North Ogden, is part of the Weber School District. It first opened in 1977, one of four schools in the district with the same open design plan. Over the years, classrooms were enclosed and in 2008, a wing was added which provided nine new classrooms.
With an enrollment of approximately 500 students and 32 teachers, Green Acres serves students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade, and provides a variety of special programs as well. These include classes for Headstart, special education preschool, kindergarten, Life Skills and Utah School for the Deaf. Our staff is dedicated to the students’ achievement and well-being, and includes Weber District’s Teacher of the Year and two former Classified Employees of the Year.
Freedom Elementary opened its doors in the fall of 2002 amidst a groundswell of patriotism (following the events of September 11th) and pride (as Utah prepared to host the Winter Olympics). 700 students, the first to be called Freedom Patriots, filled the hallways that first year with all the hopes, dreams and promise of our nation’s future.
From the beginning, the name “Freedom” has held special significance. To us, our school’s name is a reminder “of the values of diversity and liberty that we cherish and celebrate…it also represents the character traits of pride and nobility demonstrated by our founding fathers.” Those associated with our school feel a sense of responsibility, duty, and devotion that accompanies the privilege of being a Patriot, knowing our name has been born of service and sacrifice.
Built at a cost of $9,000,000 and sited on 15 acres on the eastern edge of Hooper, between 5500 South and Howard Slough, Freedom grew as rapidly as the neighborhood that surrounded it and soon swelled to over 900 students, prior to a boundary shift in 2009. Our current enrollment, which stands at 730, continues to grow, as the community fills in around us.
Our staff of 65 include: teachers, aides/paraprofessionals, secretaries, cooks, and custodians, along with a school counselor, media specialist, school nurse, speech/language pathologist, school crossing guards, and many other support personnel. In addition to our staff, we have many other school community members, who are vital to helping our students learn and grow. These include: Foster Grandparents, the Freedom PTA, School Community Council, our community business partners, along with approximately 50-70 other volunteers who are helping in our classrooms, reading center, and throughout the school on a daily basis.
In addition to providing comprehensive, core curriculum-based learning to students in kindergarten through 6th grade, we also provide differentiated instruction and special education services, including services to students with severe needs in our functional life skills classroom.

Farr West Elementary, located northwest of Ogden, was built in 1984 to serve the community of Farr West. Over the years the size of the student body has fluctuated greatly, however recently the school has reflected the significant growth of its community and currently provides services to over 800 students. Nevertheless, the dedication of the faculty has remained constant as a significant number of current faculty members have been Falcons since the earliest classes passed through its doors. That spirit of commitment and camaraderie has provided a positive learning environment to all.
Farr West Elementary is a community school that reflects the make-up and values of its population. Although the community is shifting from a rural lifestyle to suburban, it has a solid foundation of hard work, responsibility, and commitment. The school benefits from countless hours of volunteer service from its patrons. It has an active PTA and Community Council that provide valuable support and resources to ensure a positive learning experience for all students. Country View was built in 1979 in, what was at that time, open space, hence the name. Since that time, many subdivisions have been created and we are now in the heart of several great communities. Over 550 students, from three different areas, (Hooper, Roy, and West Haven) attend school at Country View, which includes grades K-6. We also have two sessions of Head Start. With 26 teachers and a wonderful staff, we are very much a student-centered school. After graduating 6th grade our students attend Rocky Mountain Jr. High, and then Freemont High to finish their education in the Weber School District.
We are highly focused on reading and math, along with the other essential subjects that will help our students succeed in life. We are technologically competitive, with two computer labs; and a document camera and SMART board or slate in every classroom. We work hard to ensure that all students are safe and secure, and to help them gain confidence and knowledge in order to flourish in their educational pursuits.
Our mantra is “Taking Pride in All You Do,” which stresses to the students to do their best. Our mascot is the Colt which represents a strong will. We are very focused on being “green.” Recycling and planting trees are part of our charge. We are very proud of the students and faculty at our school, and we continue to strive together toward our goal of excellence in education and sound preparation for success throughout life.

Burch Creek Elementary comes from a rich heritage stretching back almost 170 years when Daniel Burch Jr. and his family helped settle the area now known as South Ogden. Our school is built on the former site of the old South Ogden Jr. High School facing the majestic mountains of the Wasatch Front.
Opening in the fall of 2016, Burch Creek Elementary draws upon the lasting legacy of the pioneers who formed this community so long ago, while building a new one that honors the traditions and values that have made educating our children a foundation of this community from the start.
With an expected enrollment of approximately 600 students, along with 65 teachers and staff, Burch Creek also boasts full day kindergarten, an awesome afterschool program, an active choir, and on-site Family Resource Center, which provides quality resources to help parents and children in the community.

A Parley Bates School is an elementary school which generally enrolls around 650 students. It is located on the scenic benches of North Ogden, Utah, a suburb five miles north of Ogden. It is part of Weber School District and provides a traditional K-6 program in addition to a Special Education unit that provides services to students with unique learning needs.
Bates Elementary was originally built in 1964. The school has since added two more expansion projects, the most recent in 2005 which provided nine additional classrooms, a second computer lab, restrooms, and a new gymnasium.
According to KSL, Bates Elementary school leads Weber School District in CRT test scores in reading and math and is ranked in the top 20 percent of schools statewide—a compliment to the dedication to education that is shared by the faculty and community.

Wahlquist Junior High School is located in Farr West, Utah and serves over 1000 students from the communities of Farr West, Plain City, Harrisville, West Weber, West Warren, and Marriott/Slaterville. The school was built in 1941 and served 300 students at that time. In 1950, the west wing was dedicated and the school became a junior high with grades 7, 8 and 9. Because of growth and a changing curriculum, a third addition was added to the building in 1962. Several adjustments have been made to the school boundaries over the years to accommodate the growth in population throughout the area. The ninth grade feeds into Fremont High School.
The staff at Wahlquist includes 48 certified employees and 26 full- or part-time secretaries, para-professionals, cooks and custodians. Because of our rural setting, most students (approximately 95%) are bused to and from WJHS each day. Students have access to a traditional junior high school curriculum, guided by the Utah State Core. A magnet program in pre-engineering and several honors and remedial courses are also offered to meet individual student needs. Competitive athletic programs are available for boys and girls.

T.H. Bell Junior High is one of nine junior high schools in the Weber School District. T.H. Bell is located in Washington Terrace, Utah. It serves students in grades 7-9 from Washington Terrace and Riverdale and has an enrollment of approximately 620 students.
The school colors are red, white, and blue and the mascot is the Minutemen. Minutemen were a part of a militia in America's 18th century. The minutemen were a small hand-picked force out of the local militia. Approximately, a third of the men in each militia unit were chosen "to be ready in a minute's notice."
The school is named after Terrel H. Bell who was superintendent of the Weber County School District from 1958-1962. Mr. Bell instigated the building of the new school while he was superintendent. At the time of the dedication he was State Superintendent of public instruction. Later, he was in President Reagan's cabinet as Secretary of Education from 1981 to 1984.

South Ogden Junior High School is located just southeast of the Ogden Regional hospital and directly south of H. Guy Child Elementary. The school overlooks the mouth of Weber River with a picturesque view of the wooded areas near the Weber River. South boasts one of the largest and finest Fine Art departments from performing to visual arts. South has been re-established to the new school and its new site from the older building that used to sit at 43rd and Madison for over 60 years. With several additions over the years a new South building was built and opened for the 2010-11 school year. The old South building was demolished in the fall of 2010.
South has a student population of 850+ students. A staff of 75 teachers, counselors, secretaries, aides, child nutrition specialists, custodial, administration, etc. works hard with the students and community to see that students have every opportunity to learn and succeed in their education. South has a number of sports championships, NAL championships, academic, and fine arts achievements earned by the students. South has been in the football championship 22 out of the last 27 years. South's fine arts programs (bands, choirs, arts) are the largest in the district.

Snowcrest Junior High School is located in the scenic Ogden Valley near Pineview Reservoir and close to Snowbasin Ski Resort, location of the 2002 Winter Olympic Alpine Skiing Events. Snowcrest has approximately 325 students in grades 7 through 9. Students living in the Ogden Canyon, Huntsville, Eden and Liberty attend the school. Snowcrest is the smallest junior high in the Weber School District. Our students go on to attend Weber High School in North Ogden.
Snowcrest was completed in 1987 and the first classes were held in the fall of that year in the new school located in Eden, Utah. Prior to that, students attended a combined elementary/junior high school in Huntsville. Originally, future plans for the school included additions that would enable the school to become a high school serving the Ogden Valley. However, the population in the Ogden Valley has not yet grown to the point necessitating a high school in the Valley.
The Snowcrest mascot is a Skyhawk. The school colors are royal blue, silver and white.
