Burch Creek Elementary comes from a rich heritage stretching back almost 170 years when Daniel Burch Jr. and his family helped settle the area now known as South Ogden.  Our school is built on the former site of the old South Ogden Jr. High School facing the majestic mountains of the Wasatch Front.

Opening in the fall of 2016, Burch Creek Elementary draws upon the lasting legacy of the pioneers who formed this community so long ago, while building a new one that honors the traditions and values that have made educating our children a foundation of this community from the start.

With an expected enrollment of approximately 600 students, along with 65 teachers and staff, Burch Creek also boasts full day kindergarten, an awesome afterschool program, an active choir, and on-site Family Resource Center, which provides quality resources to help parents and children in the community.

A Parley Bates School is an elementary school which generally enrolls around 650 students. It is located on the scenic benches of North Ogden, Utah, a suburb five miles north of Ogden. It is part of Weber School District and provides a traditional K-6 program in addition to a Special Education unit that provides services to students with unique learning needs.

Bates Elementary was originally built in 1964. The school has since added two more expansion projects, the most recent in 2005 which provided nine additional classrooms, a second computer lab, restrooms, and a new gymnasium.

According to KSL, Bates Elementary school leads Weber School District in CRT test scores in reading and math and is ranked in the top 20 percent of schools statewide—a compliment to the dedication to education that is shared by the faculty and community.

Wahlquist Junior High School is located in Farr West, Utah and serves over 1000 students from the communities of Farr West, Plain City, Harrisville, West Weber, West Warren, and Marriott/Slaterville. The school was built in 1941 and served 300 students at that time. In 1950, the west wing was dedicated and the school became a junior high with grades 7, 8 and 9. Because of growth and a changing curriculum, a third addition was added to the building in 1962. Several adjustments have been made to the school boundaries over the years to accommodate the growth in population throughout the area. The ninth grade feeds into Fremont High School.

The staff at Wahlquist includes 48 certified employees and 26 full- or part-time secretaries, para-professionals, cooks and custodians. Because of our rural setting, most students (approximately 95%) are bused to and from WJHS each day. Students have access to a traditional junior high school curriculum, guided by the Utah State Core. A magnet program in pre-engineering and several honors and remedial courses are also offered to meet individual student needs. Competitive athletic programs are available for boys and girls.

T.H. Bell Junior High is one of nine junior high schools in the Weber School District.  T.H. Bell is located in Washington Terrace, Utah.  It serves students in grades 7-9 from Washington Terrace and Riverdale and has an enrollment of approximately 620 students.

The school colors are red, white, and blue and the mascot is the Minutemen.  Minutemen were a part of a militia in America's 18th century. The minutemen were a small hand-picked force out of the local militia. Approximately, a third of the men in each militia unit were chosen "to be ready in a minute's notice."

The school is named after Terrel H. Bell who was superintendent of the Weber County School District from 1958-1962. Mr. Bell instigated the building of the new school while he was superintendent. At the time of the dedication he was State Superintendent of public instruction. Later, he was in President Reagan's cabinet as Secretary of Education from 1981 to 1984.

South Ogden Junior High School is located just southeast of the Ogden Regional hospital and directly south of H. Guy Child Elementary. The school overlooks the mouth of Weber River with a picturesque view of the wooded areas near the Weber River. South boasts one of the largest and finest Fine Art departments from performing to visual arts. South has been re-established to the new school and its new site from the older building that used to sit at 43rd and Madison for over 60 years. With several additions over the years a new South building was built and opened for the 2010-11 school year. The old South building was demolished in the fall of 2010.

South has a student population of 850+ students. A staff of 75 teachers, counselors, secretaries, aides, child nutrition specialists, custodial, administration, etc. works hard with the students and community to see that students have every opportunity to learn and succeed in their education. South has a number of sports championships, NAL championships, academic, and fine arts achievements earned by the students. South has been in the football championship 22 out of the last 27 years. South's fine arts programs (bands, choirs, arts) are the largest in the district.

Snowcrest Junior High School is located in the scenic Ogden Valley near Pineview Reservoir and close to Snowbasin Ski Resort, location of the 2002 Winter Olympic Alpine Skiing Events.  Snowcrest has approximately 325 students in grades 7 through 9.  Students living in the Ogden Canyon, Huntsville, Eden and Liberty attend the school.  Snowcrest is the smallest junior high in the Weber School District.  Our students go on to attend Weber High School in North Ogden.

Snowcrest was completed in 1987 and the first classes were held in the fall of that year in the new school located in Eden, Utah.  Prior to that, students attended a combined elementary/junior high school in Huntsville.  Originally, future plans for the school included additions that would enable the school to become a high school serving the Ogden Valley.  However, the population in the Ogden Valley has not yet grown to the point necessitating a high school in the Valley.

The Snowcrest mascot is a Skyhawk.  The school colors are royal blue, silver and white.

Sand Ridge Junior High School is part of the Weber School District and includes students in grades 7-9.  It is located in beautiful Roy, Utah, just west of Ogden, at the base of Roy High School. Sand Ridge Junior High currently has an enrollment of 828 students, 38 faculty members, and 20 staff members.  The school opened its doors in the fall of 1970 to students from Roy, Hooper, West Haven and the surrounding areas. After Rocky Mountain Junior High opened in 1994, Sand Ridge served students from Roy almost exclusively.  Originally, the layout of the school was unique in that the interior of the building was open with no walls to separate classrooms.  Since then, partitions and walls were constructed and in 1992 the school was completely remodeled.  Built on a sandy ridge, the school colors of brown and gold , as well as the “Scorpion” mascot are symbols of the landscape where Sand Ridge proudly stands.

Sand Ridge is located near a Front Runner Station and boasts a beautiful park just to the north that is shared with Roy City.  Its athletic fields are magnificent and the school is known for its excellent faculty and diverse student body.  The school offers courses in Gate Tech, Project Lead the Way, Creative Writing, Drama, Orchestra, Drama, and Foreign Languages.  Clubs like MESA, band, choir, and Science Olympiad are also available for student participation.  Sand Ridge’s athletic teams have been top-tier in the district and the school’s Core Test Scores have been on the rise for the past 3 years.  The school’s focus on service and character development is evident with their school-wide participation in local and national service and fundraising initiatives this past year given credibility to the school’s motto Strength That Inspires Noble Greatness (STING).

Roy Junior High School  was established in 1956 and has existed in the same location since that time.  There have been a few additions and improvements to the building—during the sixties as wing was added on the south end of the building housing eight classrooms and a media center.  In 1981 a new gymnasium was added.  For its age, Roy Junior High has been well taken-care-of and remodeled over the years to serve our ever-growing student body.

With over 900 students, RJHS serves students from Roy, Lakeview, Municipal, and Freedom elementary schools and is one of the largest junior highs in the district.

Roy Junior High faculty consists of a principal, an assistant principal, three counselors, and 40 teachers.

Rocky Mountain Jr. High is one of the newest junior highs in Weber School District including grades 7-9.  It was built in 1994 and serves the residents in the southwest part of Weber County, including Hooper, West Haven, Taylor, and part of Roy City.  Our students feed into Fremont High School.  The beautiful twenty-four acre campus serves many rural farm and ranch areas.  Our student body has varied in numbers from 700 to almost 1400 through the years.  We are currently about 1000 students with almost 50 teachers and 2.5 counselors.

Advanced courses range from German and Spanish 2 to Physics and Intermediate Algebra.  Performing and visual arts are emphasized through choir, band, orchestra, drama, art and craft classes.  Computer skills are offered at all grade levels.  The school is pleased with its weight room and offers conditioning classes for our first rate athletes.   We are a part of the district’s Project Lead the Way and Gateway (Engineering/Pre-engineering) programs.  One third of our student body achieves honors status each quarter by achieving a 3.5 GPA or higher which qualifies them to attend honors activities such as skiing, Boondocks, and Gateway in Salt Lake.

Orion Junior High School is located in Harrisville, Utah which is near Ogden.  It serves the residents of Pleasant View, North Ogden, and Harrisville.  It is part of the Weber School District and includes grades 7-9.  The elementary schools that feed into Orion are Green Acres, Lomond View, Majestic and a part of Pioneer.  Orion serves approximately 950 students and is steadily growing.  There are 44 teachers, and a total of 85 staff members, here at Orion at the present time.

Orion Junior High was opened in August 2003.  A dedication ceremony was held on October 29th. The name Orion was chosen, after the Orion constellation.  These stars, in the Orion constellation, represent a fictional person in Greek Mythology.  He was known as a powerful hunter.  A hunter must depend on wisdom, skill, knowledge and hard work, all attributes which students here at Orion possess.  Orion is also a millennial word that means far reaching, to hunt, seek, pursuit, and to look for something. Students and staff, here at Orion, are always looking for ways to improve themselves.
