Orion Jr High students make seatbelt covers
Ms Smith FACS class at Orion Jr have been making seatbelt covers for cancer patients…The idea was inspired by one of Ms. Smith students who has a friend with cancer. The cancer patients favorite item that helped her through her treatments was a selt beltcover for the Chemo ports. The covers prevent the seatbelts from rubbing against the ports. The ports are very sensitive. All covers made will be donated to local hospitals for cancer patients.

Utah AHEC Triumphs!
We enjoyed hosting Roy High School for their Career Exploration activity at WSU. The students spent 4 hours with us as they rotated in groups through a campus tour, a hands-on Anatomage table demonstration, tours of the plasticized cadaver lab, and the simulations lab. There were 45 students (one which happened to be a NUAHEC Scholar, to our surprise).
We're excited about our NUAHEC Scholars upcoming high school graduations. They complete our program on May 17th and will receive a certificate of completion, a letter of congratulations from Dean Simonian, Dr. Magill, and Dr. Briesacher as well as the coveted first edition NUAHEC Scholar graduation medal. Just in time to wear their medal during their (8 different) high school graduations the following week. It's been a privilege to have them in our program and to develop what we hope will be lifelong relationships with each of them.

"30 Days of Service" Roy High School
For the month of December the CTE office worked with the Roy High Clubs and classes to collect socks for the Lantern House in Ogden. Socks are the #1 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters. No one should go without warm, dry socks. Everyone deserves Warm Feet!

Each Pathway has required foundation courses and elective courses needed for completion. Students who successfully obtain 3.0 credits in a specific career pathway will receive a CTE Pathway Recognition Award and Certificate. Students who obtain 1.5 credits are considered a concentrator in that pathway. (Pathways may vary from school to school within the Weber School District.)

Melissa Judkins Apparell Design Students At Wahlquist, used leftover patterns and their knowledge of appropriate textiles. Each student has purchased fabric, adjusted the pattern to fit their body measurements and they created these awesome hoodies!
