Criminal Justice Magnet

Description

This course prepares individuals to perform the duties of police and public security officers, including patrol and investigative activities, traffic control, crowd control, public relations, witness interviewing, evidence collection and management, court procedures and the law in general. Basic crime prevention methods, weapon and equipment operation, equipment maintenance, and other routine law enforcement responsibilities are also included.

This course is for those students interested in law enforcement careers or students desiring General Education credit at Weber State.

Interior Design II

Description

This course provides students the opportunity to develop skills in applying the elements and principles of design to interiors. Projects are integrated throughout the course to provide applications as the students study: architecture, furniture styles and construction, surface treatments and backgrounds, design and function of space and lighting. FCCLA may be an integral part of this course.

Construction Trades Foundation

Description

This is the first course in a series that prepares individuals to lay out, fabricate, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures using hand and power tools. Includes instruction in common systems of framing, construction materials, estimating, blueprint reading, concrete placing, siding, and mechanical systems. These courses are based on the current National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) task list.

This is a course in the applied visual arts that prepares individuals to use artistic techniques to effectively communicate ideas and information to business and consumer audiences via illustrations and other forms of digital or printed media.
