Teams and individuals from Bonneville and Roy High School's Automotive groups did incredibly down at State Skills this past week.
Dozens of our FCCLA students from across the district shone brightly at State FCCLA qualifying for nations. The attached pictures are of TH Bell, North Ogden Jr. Snowcrest and Bonneville High -- but there were even more schools than those that led the way and had a great day!
This past week was the open house for Bonneville High School's very own maker space. This is a place where students can come to create and collaberate. There is laser engraving, embroidery, sublimation pringing, 3d printing and more. It is all designed in a way that fosters creativity and collaberation.
Students from elementary and local WSD schools put together a "Happiness Hotline". You can simply call the number below and listen to messages of encouragement, life advice, jokes and ovarall dose of positivity!
All the messages were recorded by students in our awesome district!
State Educators Rising competition was held at the Eccles in Ogden and it was incredible. We had more students competing than any other district in the state. Students from Bonneville, Fremont, Roy, and Weber as well as four of our junior high schools (Snowcrest, Orion, Sand Ridge, and Roy Jr.) competed in a number of different categories, all related to careers in teaching. It was so inspiring to look around and to see Weber School District students engaged, excited, and developing professional skills like communication, teamwork, problem solving, and creativity/innovation.
There were service projects and scholarships and the development of applied skills regardless of whether students won or lost. Congratulations are in order for Weber High School who was awarded the "Chapter of the Year" award! Each of our schools-- Bonneville, Fremont, Roy, and Weber were so well-represented and will have dozens of students going to nationals this year in Atlanta. I loved even more the sense of accomplishment and belonging our students felt there... cheering each other on and happy for the chance to try something they may not have tried without this experience.
Weber School District ProStart Competition hosted by Fremont. It was amazing to watch each of our high schools prepare this food that was sooooo tasty. It was one of the best events of the year and students had a great time!
