Weber High’s Chamber Choir started the meeting off by performing When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2 and Ambe by Cory Campbell under the direction of Caleb Saunders.
Longtime board member Jon Ritchie was thanked for his many years of service.
Board member Paul Widdison, Douglas Hurst, and newly elected board member Wyle Williams took the oath of office. Wyle Williams was introduced.
Wyle Williams represents Precinct 7. He has extensive experience in education, having served as a physical education teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant middle school principal, and high school principal in Missouri. He also worked at a residential care facility for juvenile delinquents.Currently, Williams works as a material analyst for Autoliv in Ogden. He is married to Jackie and has five children and 17 grandchildren.
Paul Widdison was elected as President of the School Board along with Douglas Hurst as Vice President.
Amie Doepking of Hooper Elementary was recognized as the Utah Counselor of the Year by the Utah School Counselor Association.
Misty Bliss of Valley View Elementary was recognized as the Rookie Counselor of the Year Honorable Mention by the Utah School Counselor Association.
Arne Erisoty, Automotive Teacher at Fremont High School, was awarded the I Love Teaching Award.
Rod Wayment, Custodian of Canyon View School, was awarded the Extra Mile Award.
Jennifer Thomas, Principal of Riverdale Elementary, shared the ABC’s of her school. The school started with a focus on Culture, then working on Behavior, and then improving Academics.
Brock Mitchell was sworn in as the new Business Administrator. Brock has worked in education for 21 years. He was a math teacher in Las Vegas, Orion Junior High, and Fremont High School. He has served as Assistant Principal and Principal of Bonneville High School. Before this role he was the Director of Secondary Education.
