Background Checks
Background Check Instructions for New Employees
When a school or district administrator informs Human Resources of their chosen candidate, the candidate will receive an electronic onboarding checklist via email. The final task within the checklist will contain a link and instructions to schedule a background check appointment.

What to bring?
If you did not upload your identifying documentation to the I-9 task in your onboarding checklist, please bring one of the following combinations to your appointment:
Driver’s License and Social Security Card, or
Driver’s License and Birth Certificate, or
Passport (only)
Additionally, if your position requires an Access ID Card ("badge"), we will take your photo during your appointment. Please note that it may take up to 30 days for it to be created and delivered to your work location.
Why Are Background Checks Required?
Weber School District is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all students and safeguarding Board of Education property. To support this commitment, Weber School District requires a criminal background check as an integral part of the hiring process.
Who Needs A Background Check?
All new district employees are required to complete a background check as a condition of employment unless a new employee has completed a background check through the Utah State Office of Education within 12 months of the date of hire, he or she must complete a background check through the district.
Utah State Office of Education (USOE)
Background Check Requirements for Educators
If you are in the process of applying for a teaching license through the Utah State Office of Education (USOE) or you are renewing your license, you may need to have a background check completed by USOE, in which case you would not need to have a check done through Weber School District.
