Fashion Merchandising A prepares the student with the fundamentals of basic fashion and business concepts: textile fibers and yarns, garment styles and parts, retail merchandise categories, designing and producing apparel, retail business fundamentals, and fashion promotion.

Entrepreneurship

Description

This course helps students gain an understanding of the business/marketing principles necessary to start and operate a business. Students will first learn basic economic principles related to business ownership. They will identify and assess common traits and skills found in entrepreneurs, explore business opportunities, and compare the risks and rewards of owning a business. The primary focus of the course is to help students understand the process of analyzing a business opportunity, determining feasibility of an idea utilizing research, developing a plan to organize and promote the business and its products/services, and finally, to understand the capital required, the return on investment desired, and the potential for profit. Entrepreneurship is designed for students enrolled in marketing, business, and upper-level courses who have an interest in developing the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for successful entrepreneurs. The texts and performance objectives are designed to work in conjunction with DECA and FBLA, and students are encouraged to participate in these associations and their respective competitions.

Immigration and Citizenship

On Canada's immigration and citizenship page, students can learn about the processes and policies involved in foreign travel. Although this particular country is just used as an example, this is an educational resource for helping students understand how to apply for passports, plan trips abroad, conduct business in a new country, as well as some things to consider before taking on a new adventure.

Head Custodian Spotlight Award!

This past week, Jack Hodson, received the Head Custodian Spotlight Award. Jack has been a custodian in our district for 40 years! He began at Roy High in 1977 as a General Custodian and Asst. Head Custodian. He then moved to H. Guy Child as Head Custodian. He has worked at Green Acres, Rocky Mountain Jr. and then Fremont High in 2001. Jack continues to serve Fremont and our district! 

We congratulate Jack on this amazing accomplishment and we are honored to have him as part of our team here at the Weber School District!
