The Mission of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to provide students with the technical skills and academic knowledge needed to prepare them for future employment and/or a successful transition to post-secondary education. CTE Pathways show students a direct connection between doing well in high school and being able to transition smoothly to post-secondary opportunities or getting a good job when they graduate. CTE offers a wide variety of courses at the junior high and high school level. Many of our high school CTE courses offer Concurrent Enrollment (CE) credit through Utah colleges and universities.

The workplace in our country has become increasingly more dynamic and demanding at a phenomenal pace. Knowledge and skills that are useful and marketable today may be completely obsolete before the end of the year or even sooner. For this reason, the students of today need an education that is not only rigorous and relevant, but one that prepares them to advance in a career.

CTE training is vital. Nearly one-third of the fastest growing occupations will require an associate’s degree or a post-secondary vocational certificate, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. Employers will be hiring more people with technical education than any other group. In addition, the fastest growing job categories in the United States will be technology related. In Utah, a coalition of business and education leaders have a vision for educating our youth to revitalize Utah's economy. CTE offers students the opportunity to learn from extremely well qualified, professional instructors in a contextual setting using up to date, “real world” technology. CTE continually works at building collaborative, articulated programs with post-secondary educational institutions to increase the educational options for our students. A majority of our programs have state administered competency tests associated with the course of study. Our goal is to consistently score above the state average in every program area.

Student leadership opportunities along with local, state and national competitions are available through our CTSO's (Career and Technical Student Organzations).

Work Based Learning (WBL) opportunities are provided to qualified 12th grade students. After completing a Critical Workplace Skills independent study course, apprenticeships and/or internships are available at local businesses, medical facilities, schools, and government entities.

A nontraditional career is any occupation in which women or men comprise 25 percent or less of its total employment. Our teachers and counselors work to enhance awareness about nontraditional careers and dispel stereotypes and myths about these careers.

We believe in our students, support our teachers and constantly look for ways to improve our programs!

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have a Student ID?

To create a Parent Account you must have a Student ID for just one of your children. You can find your child’s Student ID on previous report cards. The students use this number in the library and for lunch. If they do not remember their Student ID simply call the school.

I don't have a Student PIN?

The system will provide you with a PIN as long as you have your student ID. Simply begin the creation process and after entering the Student ID click the link that says, "Don't know your student's pin? Click here.".

I don't have a parent account?

Create a parent account now with your child's Student ID. Create a Parent Account.  If you don't know the Student ID call the school for help.

I don't know my Username?

Usernames are always the same as the email you used to create the account or the email that is currently linked to the account. Simply type in your full email address. example. , , , etc.

I don't remember my password?

If you don't remember your password you can simply go to the login page and select the link for "If you have forgotten your password."

What if my student is new to the Weber School District?

Because each school has specific requirements please call your school and schedule a time to pick up a new Student Registration packet. They will request documentation which includes your student's Birth Certificate, Immunization records, and Proof of Residence. Click on the schools menu to find your school.

How do I call the school?

Visit the school menu and the top of this page and use the number there to contact the school office.

How do I change my emergency contact number?

1. Have the guardian Login to the portal: http://myweber.wsd.net
2. Click "Preferences"
3. Change/Enter cell phone number (10 digits)
4. Click "Change Emergency Number"

How do I add students to my Parent account?

The school maintains the student's records and their connection to parents and guardians. Please call the school and have them add your student/s. They can add the student/s to your current parent account.

A myWeber Parent Account is intended for parents to view all the information available for each of their students in the District. With a Parent account you will have the ability to check grades, late assignments, missing assignments, lunch balances, attendance history, transcripts and State testing scores for each student.

Weber School District provides every student and teacher with a Microsoft Office 365 account. This account allows students and teachers to access the popular Microsoft Office Suite from any computer connected to the internet. Each account includes:

• Online versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & OneNote
• 30 gigabytes of online storage with OneDrive
• Software downloads of the latest version of Office for PC & Mac (up to 5 computers)
• Phone & Tablet Office apps for Windows, Android and iOS devices

Login to your Office365 account by going to portal.office.com.

1. Go to the following address to login: “portal.office.com”
2. Login with your wsdstudent email address and password ()
3. Once you are logged in you can create new documents online or download a version of Microsoft Office for your computer

Did You Know?

• Starting in kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
• Missing 10 percent (or about 18 days) can make it harder to learn to read.
• Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks.
• Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
• Absences can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work.

What You Can Do

• Set a regular bed time and morning routine.
• Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
• Find out what day school starts and make sure your child has the required shots.
• Introduce your child to her teachers and classmates before school starts to help her transition.
• Don’t let your child stay home unless she is truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
• If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school counselors, or other parents for advice on how to make her feel comfortable and excited about learning.
• Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
• Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.

Chronic Absence - 18 or more days
Warning Signs - 10 to 17 days
Good Attendance - 9 or fewer absences

Sign the AUP

Weber School District is committed to ensuring a safe environment for student and employee computer usage. The Appropriate Use Policy (AUP) governs the usage of the computers in the district. Everyone using a district computer is required to abide by the rules set forth in the AUP.

Key Points of the Appropriate Use Policy

1. Your use of the computer should be appropriate to your role in Weber School District. In other words, your use of technology should be consistent with the educational and support responsibilities of your job (i.e. Teacher, Administrator and Classified Employee).
2. It is both an AUP violation and a Class B misdemeanor to intentionally and knowingly access pornography from any Weber School District computer including laptops.
3. All Weber School District web activity and email communication is filtered and logged. Consequently, Weber District users of computers and computer services should have no expectation of privacy in their use of these technologies.
4. All Students will be monitored and supervised as they use WSD technology, including computers and computer labs.
5. Violations of the AUP are handled aggressively and may result in suspension from school for students, and job actions (including possible termination) for staff, as circumstances warrant.
6. Employees must exercise reasonable care to safeguard access to their computer(s) from other individuals including students. Passwords must be kept secure and changed as needed. Students must not be allowed to use the computer assigned for teacher use.

Appropriate Use Policy

The Appropriate Use Policy is the agreement between the district, the students, and the staff, and determines which computer activities are appropriate. Usage of the computers should always be appropriate to one's role in the district. Failure to adhere to the Appropriate Use Policy will result in disciplinary action.

What are the best methods for me to receive timely WSD notifications?

Currently, the preferred methods for getting WSD notifications are to visit the main wsd.net web site, as well as your school web site. Other options include checking our district Twitter account or Facebook page. Please keep in mind that our Facebook page is not monitored 24/7, so any messages you send may not be responded to immediately.

We also offer the ability to sign up for email and text alerts. However, due to the volume of message that are being sent out, these two options are not as timely.

Emergency Notifier

What:

The emergency notifier is linked to all email addresses,  all mobile phone numbers, the district twitter account, the district Facebook account, as well as all Weber School District web pages. It is accessed through a button in MyStudent that is only accessible by particular district administrators.

When:  

This is for emergency type notifications; (i.e. school closures, late start, early out, lockouts,) and other situations when we need to get information to parents and students. There is no ability to “unsubscribe” from this list.

Who:

The Emergency Notifier can only be initiated by the Superintendency. Subsequent permission can be granted from the superintendent to the director and supervisor of Technical Services, the director of Secondary Education,  the director of Elementary Education, Community Relations/Safety Administrator, and Technical Services Web Development emergency notification support. (Blayne Christensen, Geoff Brooks, Justin Reeve) Geoff Brooks is the point of contact.

How:

To activate the Emergency Notifier contact one of the persons in the above list. You must have myStudent installed and updated to access the button.

MyConnect

What:

MyConnect is an “opt in” notification system. (Similar to remind101) Teachers and administrators can create a list associated with a course or other group of students. Students/parents connect to that text/email feed for any type of notifications or messages associated with that course or list. These messages are logged and can be scheduled.  Parents/Students can also unsubscribe.

When:

This is for normal classroom notifications, athletic and club notifications, administrator to faculty notifications and messages, etc.

Who:

All teachers and administrators in Weber School District have access to MyConnect. For teacher and administrator help, contact Vincent Coates. . For help joining a list associated with your students, contact the school or teacher.

How:

MyConnect is a button located in the MyStudent suite of classroom tools. List management can also be accomplished via website http://myconnect.wsd.net

AcyMailer

What:

AcyMailer is a school based utility to mass email parents and students within their school.

When:

This is for sending newsletters, emails with attachments, emails to specific grade levels, PTA, Etc.

Who:

Building administrators have access to AcyMailer. For help contact Vincent Coates.

How:

AcyMailer is a Joomla web site application. Administrators log into their Joomla site and can send the content out to groups specified in that list.
