Emotional Regulation is the way we handle big feelings like anger, disappointment and anxiety. Emotional Regulation (sometimes called self-regulation) is the ability to identify your feelings, and express them in a healthy and appropriate way. Emotional regulation does not mean getting rid of feelings, but rather being aware of them. Once we are aware of our emotions, we can take control in the way we express them. Below you will find resources you can use at home to better understand emotional regulation, and help teach this important skill to your child.
