MyConnect

What: MyConnect is an “opt in” notification system. (Similar to remind101) Teachers and administrators can create a list associated with a course or other group of students. Students/parents connect to that text/email feed for any type of notifications or messages associated with that course or list. These messages are logged and can be scheduled.  Parents/Students can also unsubscribe.

When: This is for normal classroom notifications, athletic and club notifications, administrator to faculty notifications and messages, etc.

Who: All teachers and administrators in Weber School District have access to MyConnect. For teacher and administrator help contact Vincent Coates. For help joining a list associated with your students, contact the school or teacher.

How: MyConnect is a button located in the MyStudent suite of classroom tools. List management can also be accomplished via website http://myconnect.wsd.net

What are the best methods for me to receive timely WSD notifications?

We offer the ability to sign up for email and text alerts

To sign-up to receive emergency notifications through text and/or email, login to myweber.wsd.net and click on the emergency notifications link in the menu.

Other methods for getting WSD notifications are to:

1. Visit the main wsd.net web site
2. Visit your school web site.
3. Check our district Twitter account. To sign up to follow our Twitter account, text “follow @wsdnotification” to 40404.
4. Check our district Facebook page. Please keep in mind that our Facebook page is not monitored 24/7, so any messages you send may not be responded to immediately.

Emergency Notifier

What: The emergency notifier is linked to all email addresses, mobile phone numbers that have been added to the emegency notifications in myweber, the district twitter account, the district Facebook account, as well as all Weber School District web pages. It is accessed through a button in MyStudent that is only accessible by particular district administrators.

When: This is for emergency type notifications; (i.e. school closures, late start, early out, lockouts,) and other situations when we need to get information to parents and students. To unsubscribe login to myweber.wsd.net and adjust your Emergency Notification preferences.

Who: The Emergency Notifier can only be initiated by the Superintendancy. Subsequent permission can be granted from the superintendent to the director and supervisor of Technical Services, the director of Secondary Education, the director of Elementary Education, Community Relations/Safety Administrator, and Technical Services Web Development emergency notification support. (Blayne Christensen, Geoff Brooks, Justin Reeve) Geoff Brooks is the point of contact.

How: To activate the Emergency Notifier contact one of the persons in the above list. 

Twitter Notifications*

You do not need to have a Twitter account to follow and receive text messages sent from the WSD Notification Twitter account. Do the following to receive WSD Notification tweets as text messages on your mobile device:

The following dates, related to open enrollment, are set within the parameters of the statute: 

NOVEMBER 2020 – 

The principal of a school that is requiring a new open enrollment application for incoming 7th or 10th grade students must notify parents by mail that they must re-apply to continue at the next level school. 

DECEMBER 1, 2020 through FEBRUARY 19, 2021 – 

The Open Enrollment Application is available at all schools/online (wsd.net – Departments – Student Services – Open Enrollment) and accepted at designated “open enrollment” schools during this application time frame. 

MARCH 15, 2021 –  

Withdrawal provision for students already attending under previous acceptance.  The school will notify parents of students who will not be permitted to continue enrollment in the non-resident school.

MARCH 31, 2021 – 

By this date, parent/student are generally notified of acceptance or denial.

I don't have a Student ID?

To create a Parent Account you must have a Student ID. You can find your student’s ID on previous report cards. The student’s use this number in the library and for lunch. If they do not remember the Student ID simply call the school.

I don't have a Student PIN?

The system will provide you with a PIN as long as you have your student ID. Simply begin the creation process and after entering the Student ID click the link that says, "Don`t know your student`s pin? Click here.".

I don't have a parent account?

Create a parent account now with your child's Student ID. Create a Parent Account.  If you don't know the Student ID call the school for help.

I don't remember my password?

If you don't remember your password you can simply go to the login page and select the link for "If you have forgotten your password."

What if my student is new to the Weber School District?

Because each school has specific requirements please call your school and schedule a time to pick up a new Student Registration packet. They will request documentation which includes your student's Birth Certificate, Immunization records, and Proof of Residence.

Weber District Technical Services Department is responsible for all computer related issues.  The district is a large and diverse community of approximately 30000 students and 4000 staff.  There are about 8000 computing devices for which the department has responsibility. Maintaining this base of hardware is an extensive task.  The support and functionality of these systems are paramount as everything from grading and daily attendance, instruction, school lunch, libraries, and all business practices are dependent on technology. As technology becomes an increasingly important component of the educational process, it is critical that these systems are reliable and efficient.

The safety of our students is of primary importance. While many systems and protections are in place for this purpose, we ask that parents, staff and other responsible adults do all they can to support us in this effort to keep children safe online.

Weber District is a leader in instructional technology. No computer is older than 4 years. Every classroom has a mounted projector and a majority of classrooms document cameras, SmartBoards, Chromebooks, and other technologies available. Every teacher has access to a class blog, and all classes have an online component for teachers to use. Real-time information on grading, attendance, progress reports, transcripts and other information is available to parents online through our portal 24/7/365. The department strives for 100% availability of all systems and takes pride in the speed and performance of Weber School District's systems. The Technical Services staff is a dedicated group of professionals with an impressive array of abilities. The Technical Services Department is comprised of:

• 8 developers, engineers, and analysts
• 3 web specialists and instructional technologists
